Xeper-I-Set

Wasn't really sure whether to post this here in in Music, but does it really matter?
A great song by an even greater band. Setianism isn't nearly as common in music as satanism is but a song this good makes up for it. Vocalist and guitarist of Dissection was a member of TotBL, and if somebody knows his shit around this kind of thing, he is.

This whole album is full of symbolism and I strongly recommend checking it out.

That is your opinion and I respect that, but your opinion sucks, and you suck because you think that. /s

I can't remember many songs about LHP with clean vocals, but here's a good, melancholic one.
They are also part of the Current 218, continuing where Dissection died.

I'll post more if I remember some good ones.

A slow, heavy, repetitive and beautiful black metal song about "bringer of the light that sits in the dark". It tells a lot, yet doesn't say much.

That song by Dissection was probably the first time I ever heard about Xeper and understood it to be a religious term. There is also this song, though, which I knew even before:

Then I'd suggest you don't know what black metal is.

Ever hear Kveldssanger ("twilight songs") the second piece of Ulver's "black metal trilogie"? Black metal isn't a genre of music - it's a feeling - much like punk. I do agree, most "black metal" makes me cringe too, but as a black metal artist I'd suggest you need to not "criticise what you don't understand".

Plus, I'm black and I play metal. Burzum is nice music but that fucktard ain't black.

Really? well, I've got all the classic black metal and the proto-black metal albums in my record collection and have learned many of them on guitar and drums. I've written many black metal songs in the past.

I do agree, most "black metal" makes me cringe too, but as a black metal artist I'd suggest you need to not "criticise what you don't understand".

Why does everyone assume stuff like this when they hear an opinion they don't agree with?

I find the aesthetics and lyrics of 90% of black metal I've heard (and read) to be cringey, that uncomfortable feeling of 'this person who wrote this, is really bad at this', some of it (like bands that have corpse-paint) is silly enough to laugh at but much of it is just a dry kind of bad.

I speak largely for the stuff I've listened to around post-2000.

But Black Metal as a whole (apart from a few masterpieces) is largely just like a variety-act.

Most likely the fact I was agreeing with you is evidence of my point. So now - if I was a complete twat and this was a court of law - I'd assume you don't just misunderstand black metal but also the English language.
