I'm not really asking what organizations you've been a member of, but please talk about that if you want to, and especially if you think it will add clarity.

I'm more asking a question along these lines:

Have you experimented with Chaos Magick?
yes

Quote
How about atheistic (or I-theistic) Greater Black Magic?
absolutely yes

Quote
Do you play around with manipulating people - oh, sorry, Lesser Black Magic?
I find it neither productive nor entertaining

Quote
Have you seen and acted on the mythological congruity of Lesser Black Magic and the Norse trickster Loki?
no

Quote
Have you ever attempted to bind a demon?
I'm more into resolving problems.  Binding--a form of repression--would be a last resort and would consider it as a failure.

Quote
Have you experimented with serving Satan? (This could be Lucifer, Set, Cthulhu, or whoever holds an interest for you.) BONUS question here: would serving Satan really just be an odd form of Right Hand Path?
Not interested

Quote
Have you ever experimented with lycanthropy? Ever worked in that regard with Loki's wolfish son Fenrir?
Looked into it--not my cup of tea.

Quote
I already know we have some yes answers to this one: Have you experimented with vampirism?
I'm really not into LBM

How does one get angry?  ;)
It would be through dislike.

Quote
Honestly, I hardly ever feel anger - perhaps once a year or so for a few seconds, and for really petty reasons so that there isn't even anything worthwhile to channel it into.
I really don't get angry much either--I like to be in control of my own mind.

Quote
Despite and frustration? Sure. But that doesn't give me adrenaline rushes. If anything it's re-assuring and calming as it makes me feel proud of not having the shortcomings that cause those other people to behave in stupid ways, or relieved about the imperfection of existence reminding me that I don't need to be perfect myself.

Well, my frustration with that linked essay energized me into writing this reply, so it might be working automatically without first making me angry
Sounds like you have transformed anger so it doesn't overcome your mind.

Quote
And regarding envy and jealousy: Not sure whether I know those feelings.
Envy: In the sense of seeing something and wanting to have it? Sure. In the sense of disliking someone else for having something that I want to have? Nope - can't think of any occasion.
Jealousy: In the sense of noticing that someone else has a better relationship with someone than I have, and feeling bad because of that? Yes, but rather because it attacks my self-confidence, not because I would actually care about having a better relationship with that person than the other person has.
And I don't see what either of these would have to do with anger?
The essay didn't cover these other emotions.  However, the wrathful emotions are useful for clearing obstacles.

You can always write your own essay regarding jealousy and envy. :D

Setian Philosophy / Re: A Thoth centered Setianism?
« on: June 10, 2019, 08:13:34 pm »
This is something I've played with a lot, and Thoth has always kind of been the right hand of Set for me. Technically in myths he is Set's son almost, or Sets and Horus'. He's the balance between them. It's almost like the two separate dualities creating a unity which we currently find ourselves in.

It's almost like Slavic myth where the Supreme god becomes opposites, but the opposites came first. Likewise all other gods would be tied back to these 3, same as in Slavic culture.
In the Pyramid Texts, Thoth is referred to as "The One-who-separates-the Quarrelers."  (Utterance 257, verse 306)
Thoth is older than Set, as Thoth is the one who gambled with the moon to win 5 days worth of light to add to the year so the goddess Nut could give birth to Osiris, Isis, Horus the Elder, Set, and Nephthys on each of these 5 days, as she was cursed with sterility on all of the 360 days of the year (before Thoth added the 5 days to it.)

General LHP Discussion / Re: How do you define morality?
« on: May 26, 2019, 02:49:35 am »
Morning Star = Lucifer = lesser self
Thanks for clarifying. That's surprising, I think most LHPers rather equate Lucifer with the higher (=greater?) self.
I hope this makes sense:
1. Lucifer was thrown to the earth (objective reality)
2. Ego is the portion of the psyche associated with the interface with objective reality (ego as the Freudian Reality Principle,) as well as the conscious mind and understanding (light bringer.)
3.  Ego, our conscious mind and interface with objective reality, is only a portion of our psyche--therefore, it is our "lesser self," while both our conscious and unconscious mind is our "greater self."

General LHP Discussion / Re: To ban or not to ban

Looking at the thread in question:  there is only a remnant of what this person posted which was quoted by others:

Quote
"What makes you angry: > Stupid people, religion, science, Black people, Arabs, Latin Americans, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, homosexuals, liberals, transsexuals, feminists, Leftists.

Should we ever use weapons of mass destruction: > Yes, against the following: The Islamosphere, Africa, South America, Central America, India, Southeast Asia.

Well, this person obviously wouldn't be happy here, and would probably get quite angry here, so I have no problem with the administration showing him the door.

General LHP Discussion / Re: Animal sacrifice

On the other (left) hand, being that I consider myself to be an apex predator, I will eat everything and anything I desire.
Regarding the sacrifice aspect. I don't believe in entities outside of myself, therefore I have no need to offer myself something in return for something I already have.
How do you reconcile these two statements?  Do you prey on yourself?  (My guess it would have to do with how you define "entities.")
Wut? LOL . . .

Apex Predator = eat/feed on whatever I want

"don't believe in entities outside of myself"
All gods, devils, demons & angel things are aspects of our unconscious mind.

"Do you prey on yourself?"
I gather you are confused with what I was talking about?
I addressed eating meat in one reply and addressed sacrificing to an entity in another reply. They really weren't meant to be connected.

Thank you for the clarification.  So it does have to do with your own definition of entities, then, with your definition of an entity being non-corporeal.  (The usual definition of an entity is something with a distinct and independent existence, which would make your statement "I don't believe in entities outside of myself" as embracing solipsism.)

I'm not really a predator.  I'm more omnivorous than predatory.

False dichotomy. A predator is a creature which preys on others, regardless of what else it might eat. Bears and raccoons are omnivorous, but that doesn't give them any less enjoyment of eating your chickens or your cute little dog.
If ritual animal sacrifice is not predatory in nature, then what is it, then?

"Here Master, I brought you a cute little creature.  Since I love you so much, I want to share the joy I have killing this creature in Our Sacred Space with you.  I also have this blood fetish that gives me great joy.  Let me also share this joy with you as I splatter blood all over Our Sacred Space."

Nope.

I'm not really into animal sacrifice, especially whole burnt sacrifice (holocaust.)

Your mileage may vary.

You really lost me here . . .
Apophatic theology, also known as negative theology, is a form of theological thinking and religious practice which attempts to approach God, the Divine, by negation, to speak only in terms of what may not be said about the perfect goodness that is God.
The Apophatic approach can also be applied toward Self (or just about anything else, for that matter.)

Quote
Contrarian
    1.   a person who opposes or rejects popular opinion, especially in stock exchange dealing.

    2.   opposing or rejecting popular opinion; going against current practice.

Just for the helluvit or is there some motive behind it?
I tend to do it naturally/unconsciously, usually without a conscious motive.  (Although I suspect it might have developed as a defense against being manipulated and/or as a means to express intuition {unconscious cognition})

If you are apathetic to your unconscious cultural programming, then how are you going to bring it into consciousness and examine it?  That's basically the same effect as RHP repression of ideas outside of the "norm."
I am apathetic to it because anytime I unveil some kind of cultural programming I immediately see it for what it is . . . nothing. After decades of this one becomes apathetic to it . . .
OK, I'll give you that--there is a difference between becoming consciously apathetic to it and remaining unconsciously apathetic to it.  I disagree with you regarding it being nothing, however.  It being nothing would violate causality, constituting an effect (cultural norms) without a cause.

The thing is that there is both truth (wisdom) and falsehoods to be found in whatever nomos you are considering.  To dismiss it all as false is to throw away discernment and throw the baby out with the bathwater.
Everything other than my own, personal nomos I understand as not a part of me, but a part from someone else. I am only interested in the Universe I am creating for my Self.
I see this as a conclusion resulting from an apophatic approach towards self.  (This is not me.  This is not my Self. This is not who I am.)  Negative itheology.  ;)

I try my best to redefine antinomianism in a new light, one that places it at our inner war with our shadow self and in lieu of individuating one's self. Whereas Heterodoxy seems to be firmly attached to the nomos (to use your word) of religion and culture.

I seem to be failing . . . however;

(from Thomas Karlsson's talk given at Flambeau Noir in Ottawa April 2017)
Antinomianism, in the spiritual and philosophical meaning:
a) Defining the utmost realities through negations and
b) going against the grain, to be aware of unconscious patterns
c) building a higher moral through breaking free from simple social morality defined by the majority (a concept actually close to ethical idealism).
I practice this:
a) Apophatic (via negation) approach rather than cataphatic approach
b) I am often contrarian
c) I do work hard to try to bring the nomos out of the unconscious and into consciousness for examination.  Not only is this a needed element for the evolution of society, but it is also an excellent skill to prompt people to bring up other stuff from their unconscious mind and rationally examine it.

Antinomianism as a praxis of spiritual dissent manifests as both a methodology and a practicum to personal spiritual freedom. Antinomianism represents a historical methodology and post-modern evolution of individualized thought that seeks freedom from the confines of cultural, social and genetic/memetic programming. The path of spiritual dissent has most often been documented and categorized as that of the Left Hand Path (LHP). The path of harmonious acceptance of man as he is and the giving over of self-responsibility to a higher force has most often been represented by the Right Hand Path (RHP).
If you are apathetic to your unconscious cultural programming, then how are you going to bring it into consciousness and examine it?  That's basically the same effect as RHP repression of ideas outside of the "norm."

Well yes, stuff that is repressed by the nomos will be in your Shadow, and antinomianism will help bring the repressed stuff up into consciousness for examination.  The ego is "consuming" the Shadow.  Heterodoxy doesn't always involve the conscious, rational, examination part--the danger of heterodoxy is ego becoming consumed by the Shadow, instead of vice-versa.

Quote
To practice heterodoxy is to accept these religious beliefs as something true and thus something to be at war with . . . I do not accept most religions, therefore, I have no use for heterodoxy.

The 'antinomian' aspect is about the adversary within. IMO when one is confronting outside principles then one is practicing heterodoxy, which in turn enables those principles to exist.
Isn't antinomianism "going against the grain?"

How apathetic would you be if they carried you or one of your loved ones off to be burned?
