General LHP Discussion / Re: Marriage without Paper
« on: August 12, 2019, 03:44:56 am »
I'm a ''wife'' on paper, but even if I wasn't...it wouldn't change the condition of our love. Honestly, I don't like the labels ''husband'' and ''wife.'' lol It sounds like property...''my husband.'' Making it legal on paper can feel special in an odd sort of way, in terms of...okay, I'm taking this seriously. I even want the government involved. lol

But, bands are important as symbols to me. Doesn't have to be expensive, or anything like that, but I like the symbol that my ring holds...it's like no other piece of jewelry that I own.  : )

Best wishes for a lifetime of love, X.

I find myself saying partner a lot. I'm a pretty big believer in free love, but I still say "My wife," at work just to eliminate confusion.

On rings,

We're tattooing ouroboros! I'm working on drawing them now. Never realized how hard it is to draw a ring :)

Ahhh, that sounds amazing!! (the tattoo ring idea)

Yea, I like partner...but then people might become confused. We become slaves to the social constructs, making everyone happy around us, don't we? lol

I think there's some sort of focus on power in repression. I strongly think that when frustrations and things of the like are bound and then a person expresses in form ulterior to that they can feel a sense of empowerment that is just an illusion. Really the perception of being at the end of any kind of journey can make a person feel a little high and mighty and I've seen a lot of that in RHP. But LHP has a lot of focus on already being perfect, freedom of expression and freedom of growth. Really it's about believing that you can improve and that just knowing that means you're perfect. When I was  practicing within a RHP tradition, I sometimes felt that my journey defined me. It wasn't until I saw the world in many different ways that I started to see that I defined my journey.
This is very interesting. I never felt ''perfect'' when I explored the LHP. I felt...enlightened, perhaps. In following the RHP, and it depends on what spiritual system one follows of course, I feel like every day, I'm improving. But, the arbiter is God, for me, now.

The beauty of the journey is just that...it's a journey towards enlightenment and self...and it's perhaps, not supposed to ever end.

I'll have to paraphrase, but M.A. once said something along the lines of: What is the purpose and consequence of our existence, and if there is a way to know, how do we find it?

Then there is having a perspective of doubt versus blind faith. Does a school of thought promote one or the other, or a mix? (A little truth, a little fantasy?)

Does it create selflessness or selfishness?

I seek balance between the two rather than being reckless in one direction or the other.

Well, I think we're inherently self-centered, not that it's always such a bad thing, but we don't need to add to it, deliberately. lol (just my opinion)

If the world was more selfless, maybe we'd see less wars, strife, poverty, greed, etc. It seems that way, anyway...maybe I'm being too simplistic.

I don't follow the LHP anymore, but enjoy this site, and chatting with you all. I like the insights here, and there's always something positive to glean, even if I don't follow it. So, sometimes, I feel like I have nothing to add to some of the on topic threads, I guess.

I started a thread recently, and need to find it. Work has been busy and I may have neglected it. lol   :|

Not that my opinion matters all that much, but for whatever it's worth...I've gone back to the RHP, and all  things considered...on average, LHP people seem to be kinder than RHP. What am I basing this on? Strictly observation, but I've returned to a RHP forum, and also people in my life. Of course there are outliers, and I'd like to believe that I'm kind to others.

But, every time I come to this site, you guys are just chill. Not judging. Not saying cringe-worthy things.

The RHP is about going towards the light, but if the LHP goes through the darkness to find the light, and comes out radiating much brighter, what does that say?

Jesus said ''you'll know them by their fruit.'' Some of you guys, your fruit is perfect. <3

Maybe. But, not the kind you can ''conjure'' up or ''awaken'' in a seance.
