If I’m honest, I say this A LOT. Sometimes, I listen to someone’s argument about a point, and after a while, naturally reach an impasse. It happens. But there are times, I’m lazy and it’s an easy statement to blurt out when I’m just over the conversation. And maybe I haven’t really considered all the other person’s points. Do you use this a lot and what’s the motivation?

Thought it would be nice to have a place for member pics. Can be pics of you, your pets, your artwork, your music, your car, your food, etc. Anything you like  :D

Here's my new avatar - it's a pic of me. My friend took a pic of me, and gave it an artistic touch - I like how it makes me look like a painting.

I look forward to seeing your life pics.

Edit, hmmm, I thought that would show up a little larger. Oh well. You can see it better if you're using your phone on here.

General LHP Discussion / How do cope with grief?
« on: April 13, 2018, 12:53:24 am »
How does your belief system deal with loss and grief? With the painful despair over losing a loved one? I'm having one of those bad days, when I'm missing my paternal grandmother, and nothing seems to take the sting away...except time. Maybe time is all we really have to count on, because grief strikes, and there's literally nothing we can do.

Other Religions / The essence of spirituality
« on: March 31, 2018, 10:31:09 pm »
I've been on a wild ride for like the past five years. I started out as a Christian, left that, then was an atheist for around two years or so. Then, I sat on the agnostic fence for a time, then turned to Zen Buddhism, Deism, back to Christianity, and explored Luciferianism. I've come to the conclusion, that a little bit of all of those things makes logical sense to me, and where I feel most comfortable is calling myself spiritual, now. I have been reading the Bible for a few months, from an objective point of view, and there are principles within it that I feel have merit, just like there's merit in so many faiths. But, I don't really follow a ''religion'' per se, any longer. I'm not ''religious.'' I don't really care for that terminology, anymore.

I feel there are so many truths within all religions, and perhaps that is the essence of spirituality. I don't feel the need for steadfast labels, anymore.

Anyone else feel this way?

General LHP Discussion / Thoughts on death
« on: December 13, 2017, 02:24:51 am »
I've been thinking about death, lately. Usually around the holidays, I start thinking about death, and mortality. My grandmother died a few years ago, around the holidays. So, it's not such a morbid thing, but then again, death and the fact that this life as we know it all comes to an end, doesn't have to bring morbidity with it.

I have different views of death, part of me feels there is a glorious after life, where Jesus awaits, and then there's another part of me that feels there is nothing after this life. Maybe just a long darkness, as though we are suspended in space. Sometimes, thoughts of reincarnation creep in, and I wonder who I might ''transition'' into, in the ''next'' life.

What are your thoughts about death? Are they largely shaped by the LHP, and were your thoughts the same/different before you accepted the LHP?

Lounge / Vampires...history or folklore?
« on: September 19, 2017, 05:33:57 pm »
I love vampire folklore but is it 'lore or is there truth to it?

Not the Hollywood versions but could there have been vampires among us who lived for an eternity?

If so, I wonder where they went.

Just wondering your thoughts :)

Lounge / Do you like Halloween?
« on: September 12, 2017, 12:10:37 am »
This is like my favorite time of year. Halloween is such a favorite time for me...ghouls, ghost stories, scary movies, and fun with costumes. Halloween has some interesting roots, and some of it pagan, some religious. What are your views on Halloween? Do you ''celebrate'' it in any way?

Journals / Deidre's Journal

I had my previous journal deleted, as my thoughts were a bit scattered, and I hate that. lol I've been inspired as of late, by others who are keeping a public blog on Word Press, which is really cool if you haven't thought of posting a blog. Very simple formats to create a really cool blog that looks like a pro put together for you. :)

I thought I'd keep a journal here again, sharing my WP blog with you all. I've named it ''Enlightened Me.''

Happy weekend to all!

General LHP Discussion / The Path of Change
« on: August 25, 2017, 11:03:32 pm »
So, I've continued my exploration of the LHP, and while there are some things that are still mildly confusing to me, I'd say that I've been growing. I've been looking deep inside of myself as to why I worry about dumb things, or procrastinate so much. The answers that have come back are amazing, and sometimes unsettling. When we look into the depths of who we are, it can be scary because those are areas that we have left dormant for a while, because you know, you get up everyday, and live your life, and don't really get all that deep if you don't have to. But, I recommend having to. lol I've completed my very first book on Luciferianism and while it was short and not very deep, it helped me view the LHP and Satan, in a very refreshingly new way. I no longer see Satan as a grisly guy with horns and a cape ready to smite me. I see him more as a vessel for change, earthly change. I come from a monotheistic background, and as a former Christian, my views on Satan were shaped in childhood to see him as an adversary, and never a friend. But, he doesn't need to be either really, he can just Satan can just be there, as a mirror for me to look into, and see the areas that require change. Or require me to embrace. Not all negative qualities about ourselves need to be ''fixed'' and eradicated. We have to learn to embrace exactly who we are, before we can find enlightenment.

Just wanted to share this with you all. <3

General LHP Discussion / Your idea of a deity/deities
« on: August 20, 2017, 06:52:59 pm »
I've been rereading the Bible again, and plan to read other ancient texts for my own edification. I have felt eclectic with my views as of late, feeling that there are many great things to bring from all types of beliefs and religions. I have been liking what I've been learning about the LHP, how it's evolved, and the values behind it, if one is willing to do the work towards self actualization, etc. I don't fear the LHP like I once did, when I was a practicing Christian.

I've been reading different things about Satanists for example, and how some believe in the Hebrew God, but that he created a lot of disorder, and that how Satan is treated in Judeo-Christian stories isn't the accurate representation. Then, I've also read about Satanists who believe Satan to be somewhat of a deity, etc. in terms of not necessarily worship, but revering him.

So, just wondering as to the views of god/gods/goddesses etc that you all may have, and what led you to believing that?

Lounge / A place to share Art
« on: August 20, 2017, 01:45:22 am »
Thought that a thread to post all types of artwork, whether done by members or something you've found online, etc would be nice to have.

I've always been curious about angels. What are they, where do they come from? I find some of the modern graphic and digital designs to be pretty cool, and of course, classic statues.

This one caught my eye earlier...

General LHP Discussion / What are your beliefs about Satan?
« on: August 12, 2017, 11:24:25 pm »
I've been thinking about this lately, how does an atheist reconcile a belief in Satan? If one is agnostic or an atheist, yet wishes to follow the LHP, how can Satan be viewed? I ask because as a former Christian, my views on Satan were traditionally that he opposed God, that he was the ''Prince of Darkness'' with no good things in store for humankind. So, just wondering, how do you all view Satan - as a real entity, and in opposition to God? Or do you view him as something else, maybe just a concept?

General LHP Discussion / Mini rant - the judgement of others
« on: August 06, 2017, 07:01:52 pm »
So, I've decided to share with a few people offline, and on another website, my exploration of the Setian path. It has been met with pity and people feeling that I'm lost, and looking for answers. When you share your path with others, do they have an adverse reaction? I don't honestly care what they think, and I've said as much. lol I'm just sharing because this is a part of my life, exploring different belief systems. I can't believe how judgy so many people are simply because they don't understand another belief system.  :| The LHP is gravely misunderstood.

General LHP Discussion / Does this belief system bring you peace?
« on: August 03, 2017, 12:10:19 am »
Does this belief system give you a sense of deep satisfying peace? When I practiced Christianity, I felt a sense of peace. But, then I came to realize that much of my belief system was built upon wishful thinking. I left Christianity five years ago, about a year after that, I naturally concluded that atheism was what made sense to me, and fast forward to about two years ago, I returned to Christianity. This was largely due to the stress and grief I was experiencing over my grandmother's death. I had never grappled with such a great loss, without faith to escape. Being an atheist when my grandmother died was hard, I won't lie. It was HARD.

Intellectually, I think atheism describes my thinking now and has for some time, but my heart looks for something else, I guess. That sense of peace that is difficult to find in the day to day, but I'm learning. I'm having to UNLEARN certain things, in the process. I don't want to cling to false gods and faiths in order to give myself a false peace. And so here I am again, having left faith again, and sorting things out for myself, in terms of atheism and spirituality, of some sort.

I'm finding that meditation and practicing centeredness brings me great peace. And so I wonder about others' belief systems, does a left hand path bring one peace? Can you describe how? I'm just curious. I find people's belief systems to be fascinating, so long as they don't harm others, and learning about why people follow what they do.

Thanks for inviting me here, Setamontet.

I left faith recently (again) and sorting things out. Feeling like the best way to describe my feelings right now from a faith perspective is spiritual atheism? That's probably the best way I can put it for now.

This looks like a cool forum, and look forward to chatting with you guys.  8)
