Science / Re: How and why to colonize Venus

The challenge is the money that it will take to make colonization possible. I want it to happen, but I wonder where the money will come from?

Not good that “tithes” are being labeled as income.

lol I haven't been in my journal in so long, there is a warning in bright red letters...120 day warning. Wow, that's a long time. I need to visit here more often. I've missed you guys.

What a crazy year, eh? I had such a different idea for 2020 back in January, like I'm sure you all had. No one plans for a pandemic, or riots, or racial's all so surreal. There is still much beauty in the world, though, if we just look for it. If we keep our eyes open...a bird flying by, or a friend who is in need, and you make their day by helping him/her.

A butterfly that flutters about, and you stop to admire all the mesmerizing colors on its wings. A good night's rest, on clean soft sheets. Or perhaps a walk in the park, without a mask, because you're the only one there.

I think that this world is still beautiful but in the ugliness, we have to do our parts to make it a better place. I hope that you're all doing well, and that you'll think of me every now and then, as I think of you. <3

How have you all been??? It's been ages since I've been on here and thought I'd change that.

The pandemic, what a crazy thing. What are your views on masks? I don't mind wearing mine, in a way, I find it mysterious.

I've been fascinated by vampire 'lore for a while, but I've never heard the concepts of magic, Satan and vampires all brought up together like this. I'll have to think on this. Hmm.

Gaming / Re: Is it just me?

Wasn’t much into gaming but I liked Kingdom Hearts. No desire to play but it will always be in my heart.

Maybe gaming isn’t as interesting to you because you have more going on in your life. I think that’s a good thing, actually. Spending too much time in one place, not moving, whether gaming or online in general, always leads to not exploring enough of life. But as a hobby on the side, that’s fine. Just my opinion.

Painted some picture this morning (pencil and crayons, plus a bit of Gimp) which I'm now using as a profile picture.

Just a variation on a well-known theme.

If anyone wants to see the high-resolution version:

I could take care of making the background more fully black, dunno.
I like the background just as it is, fwiw. I love the colors...and it has precision. I've never been very good at precision with sketching or drawing. Good work.

It's always raining these days. But, I like the rain, it makes everything quiet, all of a sudden. And then, the sun comes out, and it's like the storm never happened.

Working, and halfway through my glad tomorrow is Friday.

I knew that show was a lie. But, in some other 'lore, I've read that to become a vampire means you would need to be bitten by one, and then you have to die your natural death, and you'd ''resurrect'' by being brought back as a vampire.

Well, no baby yet. We are tabling this because we might want to move overseas for a year or two, just because. Just to say we did it. With a baby, it might be more challenging. We are thinking of Sweden, Italy or Spain. I get mixed reactions when I share this with friends and my parents...his parents. There's a big world outside the US, and why shouldn't I explore it?

I don't want fear to keep us from doing this. That's the latest news in my world.  :)

I think a human becomes a vampire after being bitten by a vampire, but killed after becoming a vampire. I think one needs to ''feed'' on humans to ''stay alive,'' or stay energized. But, a vampire can be killed with a stake through the heart, etc.

Maybe I've watched Vampire Diaries one too many times.

Vampyrism / Re: Vampyrism vs Omnivory

I'd think consent comes into play, like with all other things. I've been fascinated by vampires and the folklore tends to be that they are selfish beings, but if 'feeding' is instinctive, would that be at all selfish?
