General LHP Discussion / Re: Discussion on Thelema: RHP or LHP?
« on: April 14, 2018, 01:53:22 am »
While I do like Crowley, I have come to be of the thought that he didn't understand Liber L. Vel Legis at all, and that his whole system he called Thelema (versus the religion/spirituality) is entirely biased on his own self-interest - not necessarily what is contained within Liber Legis.

1.48 "My prophet is a fool with his one, one, one" is also more true than mainstream Thelemites would like to admit.

I also believe that "Thelema" is entirely LHP but it's Hindu/Hermetic concept of God is an important aspect to it's theology.

I really like the creation account in the Stanzas Of Dzyan, (of) the very pandeistic concept of there being a originating God (the divine mother) that gives birth to multiplications of male and female Gods, which each over the course of creation create the core of the universe, then fuse with it becoming aspects of the universe, after creating the first sentient beings.

Busy at work, working the full 40 hrs a week. It's frustrating how unable I am to study or even concentrate at the end of the day.  (though it is a refreshing break from the information overload I began having)

April 8,9 and 10 where observed by me though (the three days of the writing of the Book Of The Law) - accompanied by a reading of each chapter each day and a ritual. - which where a very meaningful sentiment and celebration both on a personal and spiritual level.

Otherwise, Mindstar, Moonchild and numerous other book readings are on a standstill till the weekend

Satanism / Re: making a list of notable Satanist organizations/sects
« on: April 11, 2018, 09:51:19 am »
Hm. I had come across their stuff last year. Looking now, based on their online activity from what I can find they would be notable.

As a personal side note, not that it bears any weight to how notable they are, but I was once shown a video of theirs with one of the founder guy saying stuff about Shiva that was inaccurate (such as the meaning/translation of some mantras).  Kinda rather irked me lol. But they did at least get the general idea mostly right that (in some currents) individual self = Shiva. Probably more so for me was he was conflating different Hindu sects... for example Shaivites don't believe Brahman is the creator, we believe that Shiva is the creator, and preserver, not just the destroyer. And we are not Advaita Vedantas although some of us are Advaita but he seemed to talk a lot from a Vedanata perspective while talking about what we believe. I did greatly appreciate him recognizing Shaivaism's strong ties to the Left Hand Path, however. SFAIK only Shakta can compare to it in that respect.

At least that's what I recall. I don't have the patience to listen to it again (I hate when people take lots of pauses),  but here's the video if anyone is curious. Again, note that not everything said is totally accurate :D

Anyways they are definitely active enough to make the list. I might have to do some research on them as I'm not as familiar with their beliefs.

As my religious leanings are towards Hinduism, Shaivism has been of great interest. I do see basic parallels between it and Luciferianism/Satanism but then it kinda predates Christianity and Satanism.
Thanks for mentioning it, I'm watching the video now  :)

Well my course is put on hold for the time being, as I've been accepted to do work experience at this retail store for three weeks - which may result in full time employment!  (as I've been out of work since coming back from Uni)

A lot of by magical and Dharmic meditational practices are gonna really come in to play here  ;)

I also want to try and push through the superficiality and relatively 'pattern-based auto-pilot' mental/social patterns that we all have a tendency to get into (especially in work environments).

So a bit of Gurdjieff-ian thinking may come in handy there too!

"Enough of Because! Be he damned for a dog!"

Setianism / Re: Old Man Aquino: No Chill

Aquino's a unique dude, I for one don't know any notable occultists (especially connected directly to two certain magical lineages) that not only posts on an internet forum (with no anonymity) but has been doing it for over ten years. I think it's cool, there is a side to his personality that you don't necessarily see in his books/writings or interviews - and proves how much of a classy guy he is.

Hail Aquino!  :)

Yep, I agree with you. Part of your statement is in part of my recent re-assessment (as I do) of the magical and mystical traditions. Trying to bring balance between theology, doctrine, magic and mystical - within a religion and system that contains all four in massive qualities is more or less a headache after a while.
As with meditation and mantras, finding the relevant place for it in your day-to-day life as an individual can be a challenge. Often, the magical side sort of takes over (like with Kabbalah) in a way that you become a bit distanced from the world, you know? which is sort of the point where you either decide to go down the intellectual rabbit-hole or otherwise you realize that it is simply a practical tradition alongside your theological, metaphysical and mystic beliefs  :)

(sorry, that was probably me venting some thoughts again.....)

In that, I'm still on the path of discovering whether magic can or cannot directly aid in connecting with God/Brahman. While I acknowledge Enochian Magic and Abramelin Guardian Angel magic, they are really only a bridge between you and God - or in the psychological-magical point of view; your higher self.
Still trying to work it out!!  :D

Been reading Frater Achad's magical record (Master Of The Temple account) from the Blue Equinox. It really humbles me reading his writings, even though he eventually got way ahead of himself (with the cipher situation) he really inspires me. I get a strong impression of the great hunger and passion for knowledge/Gnosis in his records/diary notes.  :D

Currently three chapters into my current reading of Moonchild, I forgot how hilarious the book is!!
Simon Iff is one of my favorite detectives too, such a cool character! Very witty!
From the very beginning of the book a set of really bizarre things are happening that are both amusing for their absurdity and unabashed frankness  :D

I tend to agree with your point, though I haven't exactly come to your conclusion yet. All religions in general, contain within them universal truths and insights into the knowable gnosis (in contrast to those unknowable things) of God - as well as human perversion and dogma.

I've resulted in personally believing that throughout history God (The all) does send messages to mankind, as God overseas things and wishes to intervene as it will. The crux is that humanity will inevitably pervert these things for their own gain and build self-interested and self-serving (in a monetary way) religions around them. As a Thelemite, I believe that Liber Legis was God's most recent message to mankind but even the person to receive it had his own agendas.

The highest form of attainment or enlightenment, would be connecting directly with God or the infinite but then as finite beings, I'm still not sure whether magick is the process to do it.

(am I venting?  )

Anyway, I agree with your point and don't personally discriminate against religions like Christianity (which I still have my own adverse angers towards in certain areas) - for the sole knowledge that they contain that element of truth, enlightenment and attainment within the shrouds of organised religion, orthodoxy and dogma - which is perhaps the reason the occult exists?  :)

I've had a similar path to you in a way!
