Setianism / Re: Old Man Aquino: No Chill

The following excerpt isn't from the600Club. This one is from his recent revision to MindStar. He added one whole new chapter to the book, and here are some slices from it. He def shoulda included this stuff in the first edition.

"Some materialists are so fanatic in their certainty that since 'they' are only freak, persistent electrochemical accidents, everything else in the entire OU must be too. Thus they confidently deny not just any creative genius behind the subatomic, interfunctional complexity of the OU/'Nature', but the uniform and continuous enforcement of this 'Natural Law' (NL) everywhere from millisecond to millisecond.

"The odds against the entirety of this are prima facie impossible, so atheists handle this annoyance by refusing to discuss it. Questions as to why, if one’s personal consciousness is nothing more than a freak electrical collision in the brain, this 'illusion' should continue with consistent memory for the individual’s lifetime - and why such a “freak electrical accident” coincidentally occurs in every other human brain.

"Insistent that 'he' is nothing more than this electrical illusion, the atheist has nothing but nothing to anticipate when the electrical switch is turned off: the proverbial Big Black Sack (BBS) of extinction, of nothingness.

"The absence of any supernatural morality, including of posthumous reward/punishment for incarnate behavior, makes sincere atheists that much more dangerous to others, as they are motivated only by sensual gratification. Some may of course derive pleasure from kindness, but others just as whimsically may enjoy depravity, torture, murder. Indeed the entire spectrum of sensual gratification has nowhere a moral governor; the overriding goal is relief from boredom, of being forced to confront the futility of a meaningless consciousness."

[pp. 135-136]

"Agnostics seek to avoid the pretentious arrogance of avowed atheists by maintaining that there is not enough information to answer the design/enforce question one way or the other.

"Just as glaringly this but begs the question, because the intricacy/consistency realities are every bit as visible and inescapable to them. All they demonstrate by their refusal to confront the question is their fear that the obvious answer will doom them to 'creationist' ridicule in supercilious atheist circles. Thus they succeed only in emulating ostriches."

[p. 138]

Today I learned what happened to the band "Lucifer's Friend," and why everyone stopped paying attention to 'em in the late '70s. They got a new singer and started doin' this bullmess right here. Whoops.

- I am two years celibate.

- I have been pregnant for one year.

I don't need to convince anyone of these facts so please no arguing.

You haven't been pregnant for a year. And it's good that you don't feel the need to convince anyone of those "facts," because you're never going to convince anyone.

Yep. And being convinced by any sort of philosophical/religious/metaphysical system or school of thought that either your individuality or your free will are nothing but illusions is insanely dangerous. Because relegating those things to non-existence through philosophical gymnastics is the first and most important step in learning to not care too much when free will, individuality, and self ownership are being actively singled out and destroyed.

General LHP Discussion / Ganon as LHP Gaming Figure
« on: October 18, 2018, 04:37:09 am »

Ganon (or Ganondorf Dragmire), the main bad dude from the Legend of Zelda series, has always been an all-time favorite of mine when it comes to fictional bad-guy-wizard types. Ever since I was little. I was born in the mid '80s, and got into playing NES games when I was REALLY little. My initial introduction to Ganon was through the cartoon series, because I wasn't good enough yet to actually make it to Ganon in the first game back then (although I'd seen him on the game over screen of the sequel a lot.) And I've loved him ever since.

There's a few cool things about Ganon that, to me, give his character a really strong LHP vibe:

1. He's a red-haired Black Magician from the desert (at least when he's not a pig-dude).

2. He was raised by witches (Koume and Kotake; "Twinrova").

3. He's known as "The Prince of Darkness."

and most importantly,

4. Unlike the characters Link and Zelda, who seem to be reincarnations at different points in time of Hyrule's history, Ganon is pretty much always implied to be THE Ganon, with the same memories, with the same identity, with the same personality. He's always locked away somewhere and pissed, trying to come back and take over Hyrule again. I like to imagine that Ganon perceives that Link and Zelda and everyone else keeps getting recycled, and that he consciously strives against it. But in doing so, he straight up wants to make never-changing, eternally recycling Hyrule itself come under his Will as the new "Dark World."

(At least this is how it seemed back when Ocarina of Time was considered to be the "first" entry, storyline-wise, where it shows the Ganon backstory that was described in a Link to the Past, shows him turn into a pig, shows him get banished/sealed, where he promises to come back and destroy Link and Zelda's descendants, etc. If that's been retconned or changed since then . . . then that's lame.)
