« on: December 18, 2020, 06:20:36 pm »
I still check in from time to time to see if any topics or new discussions are going on but I haven't been active since the summer.

I've mostly been consumed with work, college, my music projects, and have gotten into Chaos Magic which has intertwined with my life as a whole. I'd be sad though to see this forum die out completely. I've learned a lot here and from what I've gathered, a lot of the members are cool, down to earth, nice people. I also understand it's been a whirlwind of a year for everyone so it's understandable people haven't been as active here as they've been dealing with other things.

This game instantly became one of my favorites of all time. I'm a big fan of the Dark Souls games and this one took me by surprise. Loved the Lovecraft feel and the overall atmosphere of the entire game. It was one hell of a challenge as well. I really wish they'd make a Bloodborne 2. I'd buy a PS5 in an instant just to play it (assuming it would remain a Playstation exclusive).

Watched a few videos with him now (including interviews - must have been at least partially the same, there aren't that many on YT) and I didn't get the same impression.
Seems like a very level-headed person who stresses a lot the importance of harmonious relationships and a balanced path and of not using malicious magick without reason.
His work with the djinn seems to have been an exception based on that.

I shouldn't of used the term scary to describe him, more-so I meant as in he seems like a very powerful magician; quite intelligent to say the least. I wish there was more interviews that I could watch or listen to with him. Ever since reading The Book of Smokeless Fire I'm really intrigued.

Have had this album on repeat lately, especially this song. Can't get enough of it, so much energy and power in this one.

Thanks for the informative post about this book. This one is near the top of my to-get list. The theory of angles has piqued my interest as of late after reading the Book of Smokeless Fire. Angles are mentioned quite a bit in that book as well although I agree with you on the point that I've never felt "affected" by them before in homes and buildings.

Well I guess than I can skip that one as I'm hardly ever in the state claimed necessary for summoning those, good to know.
Or read it when I want an easy excuse for not working through what I'm reading ;)

I don't think I've seen any interviews with him, might listen to one next time I wonder what to listen to.

lol that's totally understandable. It's still a good read and offers some interesting ways about going about ritual work in regards to circles and triangles to build static energy and release it.

I finished reading it through another time the other night and decided to tuck it away with my other grimoires. I'm sure I'll pick it up again in the future and go through it. The Lunate character system within the book would be cool to try out next time I do an actual ritual of sorts.

Interesting about the farmers almanac regarding the names. I'm highly enjoying the book, don't know if I'll ever actually try to summon any of these entities ever as I'm not filled with anger and a desire to destroy which Qayin states is the purpose of summoning these entities.

I do find it a bit skeptical though that he managed to summon all 72 of these Djinn within the book.
Qayin is a scary dude. I've watched a few interviews with him on YouTube and he seems to have a very certain aura to him...

Currently reading a few books including What Every Body is Saying by Joe Navarro, which is about reading body language. It's written by a former FBI agent and it's quite informative.

I'm also reading Uncle Setnakt's Essential Guide to the Left Hand Path for the third time. This book in particular has been a fantastic read and recently have decided to put many of it's advice into practice to better myself and move forward on the LHP.

Lastly, I'm going through the Book of Smokeless Fire, which I just created a thread about since this book is truly something else in my opinion compared to other occult books I've read.

Reading / The Book of Smokeless Fire
« on: August 17, 2020, 03:29:56 am »
I recently obtained a copy of The Book of Smokeless Fire by S. Ben Qayin. I was wondering if anyone here has read or has any experience with the entities described in this book?

For those that don't know, it is a LHP book about Black Magic in dealing particularly with Djinn. I've skimmed through the book once and now I'm going through it a second time but much more slowly trying to really absorb the information and methods within it. From what I've grasped, these Djinn are incredibly dangerous to deal with and the author explicitly explains that in the introduction of the book which I respect a great deal. It's basically stated that unleashing these Djinn is only necessary if all else fails depending on your reasons for doing so.

Anyways, I recommend it even if it's just for your reading or learning pleasure.

Thanks Kapalika

Also, it is not like people are entering sensitive information on this site like credit card information and I understand upgrading to an SSL Certificate would cost money. Seeing as I don't pay anything to be a member and have gained a lot of useful information for free I get it and am thankful to be a part of this community.

PSA: If anyone here is concerned about their security and privacy, for example entering their password to login, I highly HIGHLY recommend the Chrome extension: HTTPS Everywhere

It's useful for all of your browsing needs anywhere on the internet when the website only supports HTTP.

I also recommend the Brave browser if you want to go a step further with privacy in regards to 3rd party advertisers that track you. It also does a phenomenal job blocking ads. You can also use a VPN if you wish so your ISP can't see what you're doing.

If you really want to go a step further and are concerned about your security and privacy, use the TOR (The Onion Router) browser. Although be warned, it is slow not really necessary unless you're totally up to no good wanting to access dark web sites, eww.

Just my two cents, hope this helps! Cheers!

I have wondered the same why HTTPS is not used... not very secure.

I use the Brave browser and have my connection automatically upgraded to HTTPS. I have not once noticed any trackers or scripts that have been needed to be blocked so I guess that's a good thing; although, you do raise an excellent question.

General LHP Discussion / Re: explaining your system to new people
« on: August 09, 2020, 08:20:29 pm »
This is a tough one, for the most part I keep quiet and don't have any desire to explain myself or beliefs to anyone. I've had so many people in my life shove their beliefs and propaganda down my throat and I decided to never be that kind of person.

However, I will engage in conversation with someone who is genuinely interested. Usually I'll keep quiet unless they bring up the topic of magick or something similar and I'll ease into the conversation. I've only told one person ever my actual beliefs and it was because I trusted her above anyone else (ex girlfriend) and it was so liberating to tell someone else in person. Discussing these things on the internet is one thing but to to do so in person is another. She was interested in learning more about magick to improve her own life and I felt it was time to let her know the things I knew to help her out. This was a couple years ago now but in doing so, it empowered myself and my own beliefs. I definitely recommend reaching out to someone who's close to you and explaining your system but only if you trust them 100% and to be sure you're ready. When I was younger I would tell random friends about my beliefs and it usually ended up in friendships being strained or lost, but then again I learned who my real friends were. Again, this is a really tough thing to do in my experience.

I really love this idea, and I agree it can be very lonely down this LHP we follow; I can't really talk about it on a personal level with anyone in my life which I've accepted and it's fine, but I like the idea of sending letters over email, it's more personal imo.
