Re: The Book of Coming Forth by Night I've found my relationship with Set to generally be one of a very friendly student or mentor. It's not that Set does things for us, but when I'm struggling in life and my thoughts fall to Set, I can usually feel the encouragement, picture a type of smirk on his face like he knows I'll figure it out. I never felt like Webb, for example, was right when he said one interacts with Set maybe once in or twice in your life, for me it seems to be present daily.

Forum Guidelines Welcome to the Order of the Serpent forum. Here are a few things to keep in mind when using the system:

Forum Decorum

1. Posting
This forum is intended to facilitate mature Left-Hand Path discussions. The boards are lightly moderated, but personal attacks and trolling won't be tolerated. Please format posts so others can read them. You are in control of your content and can modify it at any time with the exception of deleting entire threads.

Discussing illegal activities or perpetuating racism, neo-nazism, and other hate-based philosophies will result in the related posts to be deleted and a ban.

2. Security
Avoid sharing personal information on the site, and use email addresses that can't easily be traced back to you personally. In the event of a problem, there may be little choice but to revert to a previous snapshot, so please keep copies of important posts.

Features/Quirks

1. Images
The easiest way to post images is to simply attach them. If you want them to appear in-line, use the "Insert Image" button on the toolbar and provide a link to the image. Imgur images should inline without tags as long as you link to the actual JPG or PNG and not the main page.

2. Videos
The forum automatically embeds YouTube videos, so just paste the link directly into the message.

3. Audio
MP3, WAV, and OGG attachments will cause a player to be displayed at the bottom of the message. Soundcloud audio may be embedded like this:
Code: [Select]
[soundcloud]<song url>[/soundcloud]
[cloudset]<set url>[/cloudset]

4. Conversations
There is a bug in the Conversations system that causes attachments to be deleted if the post is previewed, so please add them last.

5. Gallery
The image gallery only shows an alert when a comment is made.

6. BBCode
BBCode is useful if you prefer to use an external editor. The following tags are supported:

abbr  acronym  anchor  b  bdo  black  blue  br  center  code  color  email  flash  font  ftp  glow  green  html  hr  i  img  iurl  left  li  list  ltr  me  move  nobbc  php  pre  quote  red  right  rtl  s  shadow  size  sub  sup  table  td  time  tr  tt  u  url  white  justify  h1  h2  h3  h4  h5  h6  nofollow  youtube  yt  vimeo  gifv

7. Blogs
A (very) basic blog system is available. PM me for details if interested. Example:
http://orderoftheserpent.org/blogs/Onyx/

8. Time Zone
The server is set for UTC time. In your profile under Look and Layout there is a Time Offset field you can use to show your local time. If you live in an area that has Daylight Saving Time, you may have to adjust the offset manually. (The auto-detect link will usually take care of it.) If anyone needs assistance with this please let me know.

Xeper.

Re: Love
I may not "love" unconditionally, that is too risky. But I do "love" seeing people push beyond their limitations, self-imposed or otherwise. That is what motivates me. I can't Xeper for anyone else, but will at least try to provide an online environment conducive to personal development, and help in the small ways I can.

What is your definition of "love"?

Love is a complex emotion.  Neither do I love unconditionally now days.  For me, to "love" something involves very strong positive feelings and emotions towards something I would defend and fight for its preservation, disregarding harm that may come to my own being in so doing.

To Become A God Anton LaVey declared the "watchword" of Satanism to be Indulgence. As Crowley indicated in his Book of the Law: "The word of Sin is Restriction". Indulgence is where it all begins, because without the freedom of self-exploration the Word implies, Thelema and Xeper would be unattainable.

Indulgence is important, but eventually one comes to the conclusion that it is a doorway into a deeper realm - that of the Will. The fulfillment of a passing desire may very well trigger a moment of self-realization - Xeper - which propels the individual into a new state of Being. What started on a whim becomes a life-long pursuit.

But I suppose self-awareness doesn't come without its share of caveats. I fear we may be entering a new era of Restriction, despite many attempts to free Occultists from the false stigmas associated with their practices. (There was once an organization in my town that made efforts in this regard.) The mainstream media has been quiet lately, but I wouldn't be surprised if LHP religions become the "click-bait" of the future when revenues get low.

I'll remain the "everyman" for now, but will Xeper just the same. The external universe cannot take away my godliness, for it has already been instantiated. My job is to Understand and Perpetuate what has already been placed into existence - to engage in Indulgence, Thelema, Xeper, Remanifestation - and work towards Ultimate Separation.

non-metal occult music The reason I wanted to make this topic is, because admit it, the majority of Satanic, occult, LHP whatever music is Metal which is really popular and so that's gonna be virtually all that is posted in the main music thread.

Not that anything is wrong with metal, I love metal. But I just got burned out on it somewhat after listening to it my entire life, and electronic music isn't so highly distorted that I have issues making out the individual musical ideas even in good conditions. Plus metal tends to be overtly angry or aggressive, and as I've gotten older I've not related to those feelings as much anymore.

I only really know of various electronic dance genres and hip-hop / rap acts outside of metal, for Satanic music. So that will be what I put here but feel free to post anything from any genre outside of metal here. Consider this the place to listen to something different, like a hot-tub soak before jumping back in the pool that is the other topic. Or reverse that if you're someone like me.

One group I've kept an eye on, Beyond the Fallen, is a good example to start off, their genre is Aggrotech. They are like metal so you can get your feet wet first comfortably... "Unleash The Beast":

One act in dark psychedelic trance, Baphomet Engine has some hits like "Satanic Temple" and Flower of Pain" but my favorite by them has always been Mechanism of Infection:

A third and final one (for now) is Asphyxia, who are electro-industrial. A lot of their stuff isn't specifically occult or Satanic, but it essentially is in spirit (to me). And add on that themes like occultism are VERY common in electro-industrial:
